Annie Hutchins Parr is a multi-disciplinary fiber and printmaking artist from Raymond, Mississippi. Her current body of work deals with feelings of loss, memory, and motherhood. In her work, she is investigating the relationships of women through the traumas of femininity.
Parr holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Mississippi, and received her MFA in Studio Art at East Tennessee State University Spring 2025. She works in both printmaking and textile based methods to connect her formal degrees with craft based practices she learned through family.
Parr utilizes family artifacts and photographs to create the imagery in her art. She aims to reuse items that had connections to the women who came before her. She works in fiber processes such as quilting, weaving, and embroidery as a way to connect to women’s history in craft.
